The Date

I stood in the mirror staring at my naked body. “What shall I wear?” I thought to myself.  I had a date with my landlord hell what was his name?  I checked the lease he slipped in my mailbox this morning.  Oh his name is Brad, how cute. I rambled through my suitcases.  I needed to go furniture shopping. I had  slept on a air mattress last night.  I found it, my damage blue jean short shorts and my zebra print Marilyn halter swimsuit. It was very sexy for a one piece. I got dressed, the shorts were cute not too much butt cheek but enough for a teaser. I slid my feet into my black flip flops. I styled my hair in long flowing waves. I applied bronzer to my chocolate brown skin, I dressed my eyes with Dior waterproof mascara and golden eye shadow. I applied my pink tone lipgloss and blew a kiss at the mirror. I heard his motorcycle pull in the driveway. I grabbed my brown and white Henri Bendal tote walking out the door.

” Wow, I never rode on the back of a Harley before.” I said walking towards him.

“First time for everything.” He said smiling at me. I mounted the back of the bike and put my arms tightly around his nicely toned waist. I wonder whats underneath. We pulled out into the street headed into town. We finally arrived at beachfront with motorcycles everywhere. The smell of grilled meats and seafood filled the air. Tanned beauties of all races roamed the beach with their dates. I spotted two bars amongst the crowd. I should have known what is a biker party without the booze.

” Your idea of a first date?” I asked

” Not trying to be funny or anything but you seem like you could use some fun.” He said, helping me off the bike.

“What happened to your leg?” He asked, looking at the bandage that covered my bullet wound.

” I was shot while defending myself.” I said. I took the red bandana off his head and tied it around the bandage.

“Now, I fit in.” I said smiling. He grabbed my hand and we headed towards the bar. Three blondes were working their daisies and their boots. Not to mention serving drinks to the thirsty crowd. We ordered Patron tequila shots. The blonde bar tender served us a tray with six shots, lemon and lime pieces sprinkled with salt.

“Are you sure you can handle your liquor?” He said laughing.

I wrapped my lips around the shotglass, tilting my head back consuming its contents. I popped the lemon in my mouth sucking softly.

” Your turn tough guy.”
He bit the lemon first and quickly drank the shot. He threw back another after that.

” So you want to challenge me?” I asked, I round up the remaining three shots and finished them off. He just stared at me amazed.

“Another round” he shouted to the bar tender. We finished off three rounds before we left the bar. He grabbed my hand and led me to ocean. The caked sand felt funny in my flipflops so I decided to take them off. He playfully swooped me up in his arms spinning me around. We chased each other like children around the beach. We flopped down into the sand breathing heavily.
“You beautiful you know that.” He said running his fingers through my damp hair. He moved in closer for a kiss. I kissed his lips, softly stroking his vanilla tan skin. He positioned his body on top of me kissing me as the waves caressed our skin. I pulled his wet t-shirt off throwing it a side. I removed my shorts. I reached in my tote for a condom.
” What are you doing?” he asks.
” I want you to make love to me right now. I have never made love on a beach. Don’t you have fantasies?” I asked playfully. Fantasies do come true.

From An Old Notebook!

If you are a writer I’m sure you have found a few half written, and finished stories in old notebooks or computer files. Here is one I would like to share. Do you have one?

The Upper West Side

Chapter 1

It was an interesting day in the Upper Westside of the downtown New York City especially in the Spring. It’s every teen dream of spring in the Upper Westside every woman’s nightmare.  Among the chaos Serena was lying in bed admiring her love William. She and William met at a convention in Buffalo three years ago. Serena couldn’t resist the six foot tall slender, bright skinned gentleman dressed in a black silk shirt and tie.  Not only was he a good dresser he had a smile to die for, his hair was low complementing his brown almond shaped eyes.

“Oh well another day another dollar Serena said to herself.”

She passed the mirror admiring herself. She spent six months working on her body and finally achieved her desired results. Serena stood five nine, thick thighs, long legs, and her most valuable asset her eyes. Her eyes were the key to her soul, they told everything about her.  Her long black hair layered well against her ebony bronzed skin.

“Did you sleep well? asked Serena?”

“Despite the fact we argued all night, no. replied William”

“I’m sorry it’s just that you don’t make yourself clear? Said Serena”

“Like you do? William replied”

Serena stopped and gazed at William saying in her mind “You motherfucker how dare you, after all I have done for you. That suit was the only decent pair of clothes you had.”

Serena walked up to him and kissed him on his cheek saying

“Have a good day at work baby.”

Serena got dressed and stormed out the door wearing her denim jumper with her red heels, and a Prada bag a client brought as a thank you gift.  After dealing with the flirty cab driver the whole entire drive she was glad to be released from her prison. Serena was welcomed by the getty interns that were with the company over the next few weeks. Walking into her office she was greeted by her overly eager new hire.

“Good morning Mrs. Harris, I have your latte waiting for you in your office along with the lists of appointments and deadlines today”

“Please Carol call me Serena.”

Annoyed Serena shut her door and flopped down in her chair.

“Oh my, what do we have here today, looking at her appointment book.”

Scrolling down the list of to do’s she realized she was due at a white and diamond party. These were the benefits of an event planner.  Party galore and you can always bring a guess. On top of that William was going to visit his mother for the weekend.

“How wonderful nothing to do after having a great party. William will be gone, damn after last night why should I care.” Serena said to herself.

Lost in her thoughts about William she was interrupted by the slamming of her office door. It was her co-worker and her friend Brenda aka Beautiful. She was exactly that, she was tall, slim, tan skin with platinum blonde hair.

“Girrrl, what’s up? She said smiling.”

“Nothing just realizing I got a party to go to tonight. I have nothing to wear, and no diamonds. William is leaving today to go visit his mom for the weekend, and this new ass assistant is driving me nuts.”

“Fire her ass then, or you could put her to work, You got a party to attend and you need to pick up a fit, After all its business.”

“Hell yes I could, but diamonds is too expensive that’s breaking the bank for a party.”

“Have you learned anything from working with Manhattan’s finest elite? You can go down to Smith Jeweler and rent a fly set for the night for around two hundred and fifty bucks!”

“Oh yeah let’s go, get that assistant we are going shopping. Said Serena”

Walking along the streets of Manhattan Serena couldn’t believe how far she had come for a woman her age. She was twenty five and already making a six figure salary  a year. All of her blessing came from a local magazine back home in Illinois.

“ Girl, I went on the chat line last night. Said Beautiful”

Broken from her thoughts down memory lane Serena paused.

“ You what?”

“  I went on the chat line last night.”

“For what?” asked Serena.

“To try something different to have fun.”

“You act like you ugly and can’t find a date.”

Look it’s the whole mystery behind it. You sit and chat with a man with a sexy voice , and girl the fun begins.”

“So basically phone sex?”

Beautiful rolled her eyes as they entered the dress shop.

“No not phone sex.” Beautiful whispered trying to avoid others from hearing their conversation.

“Then what? Replied Serena”

“ So men get on there just to talk because they are lonely. I mean I met one guy off the system.”

“Are you crazy, you could have gotten your ass killed.”

“ Lighten up, you should give it a try.”

“Like hell I will.”

While Serena was browsing Beautiful slipped the number in her purse while she was trying on dresses. Walking out Serena twirled around.

“ What do you think? She asked putting her hands on her hips.

“Very revealing, looks like you are going to a party at the Playboy Mansion.”

“Perfect! Grinned Serena”

The two ladies headed back to the office to conquer another day. Back at the office Serena was tired of hearing the fifteen year old and her overly wealthy parents make demands for their fabulous sweet sixteen pink party.

“ People and their damn demands. I could make pigs fly if I wanted. Serena thought to herself.”

“ So do you think you can handle our daughter’s party?”

“Everything is under control, would you like my references?”

“ No thank you I have heard great reviews, but if my daughter party isn’t the best I can make your five star rating a one star.”

“Miss I assure you of sheer perfection.”

The family signed the contracts and left the office.

“Bitch.” Serena muttered.

Serena paged her assistant.

“Yes, Serena?”

“ Carol call me a car for transportation to and from tonight’s event, and put the thank you cards in the outgoing mail please.”

“I’m on top of that.”

“ Okay, thank you Carol.”

Serena headed home for the evening. William was on her mind all day. Over the last few months the relationship was slowly falling apart. They were arguing more and having sex less. Serena just knew that William was all she would ever need. She always blamed herself for the problems in their relationship and the suffering. Honestly she tried everything to make him happy, and comfortable  but what did she have to show for it.

Serena’s blackberry began to ring it was William calling.

“ Hello” answered Serena

“Hey, I just wanted to let you know I was sorry for this morning. I’m getting ready to head out for the weekend. Did you need anything?”

“ No, baby I’m fine enjoy your trip, tell your mother I said hi. Be safe and I love you.”

“I love you too, talk to you later.”

Your Book Is Live!

Nervousness is what I felt and what every new author feels before they hit the publish button on KDP. For those of you that don’t know what KDP stands for its Kindle Direct Publishing.  I’m a new author and when becoming an author you accrue a lot of expenses. I editing was the most expensive, but thanks to 21st Street Editing service it wasn’t so bad. I have a big trust issue when it comes to handle business from afar. I’m excited because numbers aren’t my worry. My imagination and creative ideas are on a strangers kindle or kindle app. I’m entertaining from a distance, that’s a rush. I’m not expecting much just exposure. I’m exhausted with happiness that’s all I can really say. Thanks again to all my readers for taking a chance on a new author on the Urban block. My family Mom, Victoria Blaylock, Marion Blaylock, and M.J. To my closest friends, Tricia Johnson, Aja Wilson, and Kimberly Anderson.
